Cargill power project, Baie-Comeau

As part of Cargill’s substation project in Baie-Comeau, the company called upon BPQ for precast concrete structures that would allow him to complete the project as early as possible in the season.

Amaruk project, Kivalliq district, Nunavut

As part of a project for mining company Agnico Eagle, BPQ was mandated with designing and manufacturing several building foundations.

Project description:

  • Monolithic ground slab for a 1,080 m2 garage made from 43 parts.

  • Monolithic slab on piles for a 1,700 m2 garage with integrated recovery wells and culverts made from 70 parts.

  • Monolithic ground slab and slab on piles with integrated recovery well under the slab for a 345 m2 garage.

Gold mining project in Ontario

We provided large precast parts for a major infrastructure project in Ontario. Nearly every concrete part was precast except for the ground slabs and a few mass structures.

Water treatment station for the city of Baie-Comeau

As part of the city of Baie-Comeau’s project to build a new potable water treatment station, BPQ was mandated with manufacturing precast roof slabs, columns, and beams.

DSO project, TataSteel, Schefferville

As part of its iron mine project in Schefferville, TataSteel asked BPQ to produce concrete on their worksite as well25 as other precast concrete parts over a period of 3 years. The highly complex and varied precast parts allowed BPQ to position itself as a reliable and flexible partner for major Nordic projects

Whabouchi project, Nemiskau

As part of its new lithium mine project in Nemiskau, Nemaska Lithium asked BPQ to design and provide precast foundations for its portable concentrator and main building.

Project description:

  • Structural floor slab measuring 630 m2 with integrated catch basins and drainage channels including 39 parts.

  • Foundations for the 3,000 m2 main building including 40 pillars of about 40 tons and 40 foundation walls. Time allotted for design and production: 8 weeks.

  • Foundations for various equipment.
